About The Position
The Store Cashier I is a key member of the TravelCenters of America store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service. The role supports a convenient, one-stop shopping experience that includes name-brand products, Grab ‘N Go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, clothing, and gifts. The cashier serves customers, processes transactions, and helps keep food, beverage, and merchandise areas clean and stocked. The position requires flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Requirements
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Basic computer/POS knowledge preferred.
- Cash handling skills preferred.

Responsibilities
- Serve each customer courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Process customer transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) register.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked food and beverage area.
- Clean and stock merchandise.
- Prioritize work according to store and management needs.
- Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
- Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
