About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and store operations. The role includes providing compassionate, attentive customer service; accurately handling transactions; maintaining sales-floor inventory and pricing; supporting opening and closing activities; and helping keep the photo, beauty, and other departments stocked and operational. Associates may assist pharmacy personnel and work regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development. They also promote CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health needs.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
Ability to lift and exert up to 35 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently, with a negligible amount of force regularly, including overhead lifting.
Close visual acuity to use a computer terminal and read or visually inspect small parts and details.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and attentive service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and perform inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as part of growth and career-development opportunities.
Promote CVS services and loyalty programs.
