About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and CVS Health’s health and service offerings. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to customers’ healthcare needs and to a connected, convenient, and compassionate health experience.

The associate delivers friendly, attentive customer service; performs cashier duties; maintains the sales floor and inventory; and supports store opening and closing as needed. The position also includes helping other departments, including photo and beauty, and assisting pharmacy personnel when needed, potentially through regular pharmacy shifts as part of growth and career development opportunities. Associates promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Lift and exert up to 35 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and attentive service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items as needed.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities as needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as opportunities arise.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs.
