About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and contribute to their health care experience. The role includes providing attentive service, operating the register, maintaining the sales floor, supporting store operations and helping other departments, including photo, beauty and pharmacy. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs. The position is part-time, with 29 anticipated weekly hours.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide differentiated customer service by anticipating customer needs, showing compassion and care, and identifying and resolving potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact and offer help locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, check and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Assist customers and support photo and beauty departments, keeping departments stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
