About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and store operations. The role provides customer service, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor and inventory, supports store opening and closing activities, and assists departments including photo, beauty, and pharmacy. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs. The position is part-time, with 29 anticipated weekly hours and required availability from 2 p.m. to midnight each day of the week; shift times are not flexible, and every other weekend is required.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to use a computer terminal and perform visual inspections involving small parts or details.
• Availability for shifts from 2 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Sunday; shift times are not flexible.
• Availability to work every other weekend.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and caring service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, ensuring they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as a growth and career development opportunity.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health needs.
