About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team, helping customers and supporting store operations. The role provides customer service, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor, supports store activities, and assists other departments, including the pharmacy when needed. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs. The position is full-time, with anticipated weekly hours of 40.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Ability to remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force regularly, including overhead lifting.
Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items when needed.
Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory management tasks as directed by the store manager.
Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development.
Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health.
