About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and help meet their healthcare and shopping needs. The role includes providing attentive service, handling sales transactions, maintaining store merchandise and inventory, supporting store operations, and assisting other departments, including the pharmacy when needed. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
Ability to lift or exert up to 35 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items when needed.
Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
Restock shelves, check in vendors, update pricing information, and complete inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by keeping them stocked and operational and staying current with services and tools.
Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development.
Promote CVS services and loyalty programs.
