About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and store operations. The role provides friendly, compassionate service, handles transactions, maintains the sales floor, supports store opening and closing activities, and helps keep departments—including photo, beauty, and, when needed, pharmacy—stocked and operational. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health needs.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently, and negligible force regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to view a computer terminal and read or inspect small parts and details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Perform cashier duties, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Provide customer support across departments, including photo and beauty, and help ensure departments are stocked and operational while staying current on services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
