About The Position

The Store Stocker is responsible for receiving and stocking automotive parts. The role involves moving materials quickly and working in a fast-paced environment, including bending at the waist and knees and climbing a short ladder to reach upper shelves. The employee also performs routine housekeeping activities, such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, and changing trash-can liners. The position is full-time, non-exempt, and reports to the Store Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Attention to detail.
• Zero to three years of warehouse work experience.
• Good to above-average computer skills.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week; some overtime may be required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
• Ability to perform the physical activities described, including reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting, and carrying; lifting 50 pounds or more may be required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to move, gather, or distribute.
• Move materials and items from receiving areas to storage and other designated areas.
• Sort and place items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined criteria such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place them on pallets or shelves, or convey them to the packing station or shipping department.
• Mark materials with identifying information and open boxes, crates, and other containers.
• Record quantities of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weigh or count items for distribution to ensure they meet company standards.
• Use a computer to enter records.
• Prepare parcels for mailing and shipment via common carrier.
• Perform routine housekeeping, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, and changing trash-can liners.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
