About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team, helping customers and supporting store operations. The role includes cashiering, maintaining the sales floor and inventory, supporting store opening and closing activities, assisting across departments such as photo and beauty, and helping pharmacy personnel when needed. Associates may work regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development. The position supports CVS Health’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health and promotes CVS services and loyalty programs.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods.
• Lift and exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Have close visual acuity to view a computer terminal and read or visually inspect small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, demonstrate compassion and care, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate additional items when needed.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Provide customer support to all departments, including photo and beauty, and help keep departments stocked and operational while staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as part of growth and career development opportunities.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs.
