About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Assistant Deli Manager. The role assists the Deli Manager and/or Store Manager with supervisory decisions, deli operations, staff development, and employee training. It also involves customer service, preparing and cooking deli items, ordering and maintaining merchandise, and upholding food quality and sanitation standards. The position supports sales and expense controls, inventory and asset security, shift task coordination, store maintenance, and basic deli equipment repairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager and/or Store Manager with supervisory decisions consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with planning, leadership, organization, and follow-up related to controllable expenses, sales increases, food costs, and shortage controls.
• Set a professional example for coworkers in attitude, teamwork, customer service, and store operations.
• Assist the Deli Manager with deli management decisions, department staff development, and new employee training and orientation.
• Interact with the public and provide exceptional customer service.
• Prepare deli items and cook heated items.
• Order and maintain deli merchandise.
• Maintain high standards for food preparation quality and sanitation.
• Prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow up on shift tasks.
• Help secure store assets and control inventory costs.
• Maintain the store, including performing basic repairs of deli equipment.
• Assist clerks and managers as needed and perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
