About The Position

The Store Asset Protection associate supports shortage reduction, investigations, and store safety and security. The role works with the General Manager to promote compliance with company policies and procedures, monitors store activity through regular floor patrols, and provides a visible, courteous presence at the store entrance and exit. The associate also conducts security checks and safety inspections and communicates hazards and loss-prevention recommendations to store management.

Requirements

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service skills.
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of retail loss prevention experience.
Basic understanding of retail or security.
Ability to work nights and weekends as required by retail business needs.
Ability to stand or walk on the sales floor for up to 8 hours at a time.
Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds.
Regular time and attendance.
Ability to work independently.
Full understanding of Five Below policies and procedures.
General product knowledge in key departmental areas.

Responsibilities

Contribute to shortage reduction and investigations.
Work closely with the General Manager to help ensure employees follow policies and procedures.
Maintain the employee entrance, where applicable.
Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
Conduct store physical security checks and recommend ways to prevent loss.
Perform figure-eight patrols and move continuously throughout the store.
Provide a visual presence at the entrance and exit through courteous, professional interaction with customers.
Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to store management.
Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
