About The Position

The Store Asset Protection role supports shortage reduction, investigations, physical security, and store safety. The associate provides a visible, professional presence for customers and works with store management to help ensure policies and procedures are followed. This is an hourly position starting at $16.50.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail Loss Prevention experience.
• Basic understanding of retail or security.
• Ability to work nights and weekends according to retail business needs.
• Ability to stand and walk the sales floor for 8 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.
• Regular time and attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Ability to work independently.
• Full understanding of Five Below policy and procedure.
• General product knowledge in key departmental areas.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shortage reduction and investigations.
• Work closely with the General Manager to ensure employees follow policies and procedures.
• Maintain the employee entrance, where applicable.
• Track packages delivered through the employee entrance, excluding normal scheduled shipments.
• Conduct store physical security checks and recommend ways to prevent loss.
• Perform figure 8s and move continually throughout the store.
• Provide a visual presence at the entrance and exit through courteous, professional interaction with customers.
• Conduct safety inspections and communicate hazards to store management.
• Greet customers as a Five Below associate.
