Food & Water WatchAllentown, PA

About The Position

Food & Water Watch is a leading national organization that mobilizes regular people to build political power to move bold and uncompromised solutions to the most pressing food, water, and climate problems of our time. We work to protect people’s health, communities, and democracy from the growing destructive power of the most powerful economic interests. In the Lehigh Valley, we are fighting data centers. The Lehigh Valley faces several proposed big data centers. If approved, these projects would drive up electricity costs and increase regional pollution, putting corporate profit over the needs of working families. Food & Water Watch has been working for years, organizing to build power in Pennsylvania. Our work gets real results. We have stopped data centers and proposed fracking projects around the state. The Stop Data Centers Canvass Director will report to the Political Director and will work with other staff on the Pennsylvania Organizing and administrative teams to support Food & Water Watch’s work. The position will run a canvass operation that knocks on tens of thousands of doors to educate and engage Lehigh Valley residents on the data centers we are fighting. This is a full-time temporary position starting as soon as possible, running through November 6.
