About The Position

At our Cleveland Service Center site, located in Cleveland, Ohio, we re-manufacture alternators for EVO, HDL and FDL locomotives. The Cleveland Center supplies alternators to locomotive manufacturing sites and repairs points across the globe. The site focuses on safe, efficient processes, while continuously driving out costs. The Stockroom Keeper is responsible for maintaining stockroom levels, load/unload trucks, and distribute product/materials to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner for the organization. Employees are involved in 5S and lean projects. This role will report directly to the Supervisor. This is a 1st shift position with standard hours Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year in manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and concepts.
  • Employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Employee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.
  • Employee is regularly required to wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses.

Nice To Haves

  • Tow Motor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Oracle transactions.
  • Receiving material and Load/Unload trucks.
  • Issue materials to the production floor.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain stockrooms with a focus on safety awareness and accident prevention
  • Support the Material TA in creating and maintaining visual management for all 3 stockrooms.
  • Communicate stock levels to management via the use of the roto-cubes and two bin Kanban systems.
  • Complete weekly cycle counts and communicate results.
  • Assists the Working Leaders in the development of production floor visual management.
  • Support various departments as required.
  • Ability to meet aggressive delivery schedules and productivity goals and to make/implement recommendations that will both improve the repair process and quality.
  • Flexibility to perform all tasks required to repair Alternators and Generators.
  • All other duties assigned by supervision
