About The Position

The Stocker position at TAO Downtown Restaurant in New York is responsible for retrieving, drying, and polishing all clean dining room/lounge service ware, and distributing it to appropriate stations. This role requires interaction with fellow team members and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality. The position involves supporting dining room/lounge team members in accommodating guest needs, working with dish station team members to ensure adequate supplies, and maintaining the general cleanliness of the station and the entire venue. The Stocker must comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards, clean polishing equipment, change garbage, recycling, and broken glass bins, and empty compost when needed. Additionally, they ensure all stations are stocked to par, inform management of low inventories, and maintain restroom cleanliness when bathroom attendants are not scheduled. The role includes setting up the polishing station and performing opening/closing procedures as directed by management, reporting all breakage and damage, attending training sessions and meetings, learning by observation and sharing knowledge, portraying a positive and professional attitude, demonstrating knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality and its partners, and working as part of a team to provide help and support. Additional tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

Previous hospitality experience
Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge.
Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate
Must be able to move quickly
Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

Responsibilities

Retrieves, dries, and polishes all clean dining room/lounge service ware, and distributes to appropriate stations.
Interacts with fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.
Support the dining room/lounge team members in accommodating the needs of the guests
Work with dish station team members to ensure adequate supplies are available
Maintain general cleanliness of station and the entire venue
Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards
When necessary clean out all polishing equipment using proper cleaning chemicals and supplies
Change garbage, recycling, and broken glass bins when necessary
Empty compost into composter when needed
Ensure all stations are stocked to par and inform the manager when inventories are low
Maintaining cleanliness of restrooms when bathroom attendants aren’t scheduled
Properly sets-up polishing station and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management
Stocks side-stations with prescribed supplies
Performs opening side-work as prescribed
Performs closing side-work as prescribed
Reports all breakage, and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management
Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings
Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example
Portrays a positive and professional attitude
Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments
Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team members
