Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Valid forklift certification.
  • Ability to safely operate multiple types of vehicles, including sedans, vans, pickup trucks, and trucks up to 5 tons.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license with Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) endorsement.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain the required NASA badge.
  • Must be able to provide original documentation proving U.S. Citizenship (certified Birth Certificate with state seal, valid U.S. Passport, or other acceptable USCIS documents) on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects incoming materials for quantity, accuracy, and physical damage. Stamps or otherwise approves acceptable items and prepares acceptance documentation in accordance with shipping documents and purchase orders.
  • Identifies items requiring special handling, storage preferences, or property control procedures.
  • Stages kitted parts, materials, and assemblies in the proper location and delivers (or arranges delivery of) them to the end user.
  • Picks up returnable items, prepares and packs outgoing shipments, and processes items for destruction or disposal.
  • Maintains accurate records of all inbound and outbound materials, equipment, and finished goods.
  • Operates manual and powered material-handling equipment, including forklifts, to load and unload delivery vehicles and move materials within the facility for staging or disposition.
  • Provides package courier service throughout the facility as needed.
  • Manages the bench stock program, including developing bench stock items, assigning control numbers, entering and maintaining data in the inventory database, updating current prices, setting reorder levels, and executing replenishment orders through inventory draws, direct purchases, or material requests.
  • Obtains off-site purchases as requested.
  • Maintains bench stock inventory (including chemicals, shelf-life items, controlled materials, ladders, scaffolding, large non-powered hand tools, and personal protective equipment) in full compliance with NASA Policy Directive 4100 and all accountability requirements.
  • Conducts annual excessing of underutilized stock and prepares required reports.
  • Performs stock management functions in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Comply with all applicable safety- and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
