About The Position

The Stock Clerk supports warehouse and commissary operations at State Correctional Institution (SCI) Mercer by handling inventory, processing orders, and working with inmate crews. The role includes receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing goods; processing inmate commissary orders; replenishing stock; maintaining records; and operating equipment and delivery vehicles. The position is full-time and onsite, with work hours of 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and a 30-minute lunch. Telework is not available.

Requirements

• One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
• Successful completion of Basic Training in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, store, and distribute goods while maintaining accurate logs.
• Review inmate commissary orders, verify balances, stage items, and record transactions.
• Train inmate crews, assign tasks, maintain attendance, and conduct searches for safety.
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and delivery vehicles to move materials.
• Order supplies, monitor inventory levels, and use the SAP Warehouse Inventory System.
• Prepare reports, document shortages, update inmate credits, and maintain organized files.
