About The Position

The Stock Clerk performs warehouse functions including receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, and supplies. They maintain stock records, manage inventory, and handle cataloging and property utilization. This role involves using the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) and may require adapting to specific program requirements. Responsibilities include sorting and weighing incoming articles, verifying receipts against invoices, inspecting stock for conformance to specifications, storing items according to identification, and filling orders or issuing supplies. The Stock Clerk also compiles inventory reports, requisitions stock, and performs remediation packaging to prolong shelf-life and prevent damage. They prepare items for shipment using the Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS). Additional duties involve marking items, distributing stock, keeping records of issued materials, making minor repairs to stock items, and cutting stock to size. All work must adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), GCSS-Army End User Manual, system policies, safety policies, and all local/federal laws. Document maintenance follows the Army Record Information Management System and contract/corporate requirements. The position is customer service oriented, requiring an understanding of parts requisition flow and the mission of supported units. The work environment can include office settings, warehouse environments, exterior storage areas, and potentially adverse weather conditions or field locations with exposure to dust, dirt, and hazardous materials. The role requires short-range planning, analysis, and an understanding of the overall mission.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years in order to obtain NACI and CAC Card eligibility
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for a prolonged period of time
  • Demonstrated knowledge to operate and perform required duties utilizing Logistics Information Systems (LIS) such as Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) and Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS).
  • Must be computer literate. Be able to type and use Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand and use safety items and personal protective equipment (PPE) that is mandatory and actively supports the EHS safety program.
  • A basic working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.
  • An understanding of the needs of the organizations serviced and the overall mission concerns of those units.
  • Must have some experience in and with military supply and logistics systems or civilian equivalency.
  • Must be able to lift 49 pounds.

  • Former Army MOS 92A or 92Y preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
