About The Position
Technica LLC is seeking a Safety Officer to perform duties on a Government Contract at Ft. Bliss, TX. This role involves ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, enforcing safety regulations, and conducting various inspections across company facilities. The position requires availability for long shifts in adverse conditions, including heat, rain, nights, and weekends, to meet contract deliverables. Responsibilities include compiling weekly status reports, performing fire, safety, and building inspections, conducting personnel tool inventories, auditing processes for SOP alignment, performing monthly fleet vehicle safety inspections, inspecting SAP locations, and conducting incident investigations.
Requirements
- US Citizen
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age
- Valid state driver's license
- Must submit to pass a DHS Position of Public Trust Background Investigation
- Must be able to read and write English and be able to understand procedures.
- Must be able to communicate the English language effectively, both orally and written.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
- Must be able to work with others and be professional at times.
Nice To Haves
- Versed in local and state OSHA safety requirements.
- Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA regulations.
- Ability to process and identify code violations.
- Transportation and Freight background.
Responsibilities
- Comply with applicable federal and state laws and enforce safety regulations.
- Compile and submit weekly status reports.
- Complete inspection checks on work performed in all facilities.
- Conduct fire and safety inspections in all facilities that we maintain.
- Perform building inspections for deficiencies in all facilities.
- Perform personnel tool inventory quarterly with all technicians.
- Audit processes to ensure alignment with SOP.
- Perform fleet vehicle safety inspections monthly.
- Inspect all SAP locations.
- Perform incident investigations and fill out proper documents.
- Complete OSHA 300 Log.
