About The Position

To support and assist clients in their homes through the provision of household tasks, personal hygiene assistance, and/or related activities.

Requirements

• Must be a high school graduate, or have completed a GED, or have a minimum of 2 years experience in work related field.
• Must be listed on Ohio department of health’s nurse aide registry.
• Must be neat in appearance and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform the duties of this job.
• Must possess good communications skills, both written and verbal, and good observation skills.
• Must have knowledge of general housekeeping procedures and possess good homemaking skills.
• Must be able to organize time and set priorities.
• Must be able to follow directions and work independently.
• Must be courteous, cooperative, and even tempered toward clients and coworkers.
• Must be free of any disqualifying criminal offenses as determined by fingerprint check through the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
• Possess functional knowledge of the demographics of the service area and the ability to read street and road maps and find unfamiliar locations.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and random alcohol and drug testing.
• Must be able to enter client homes and other potentially handicap inaccessible buildings.
• Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license, automobile insurance, and have access to reliable transportation to travel throughout Crawford County.

Responsibilities

• Homemaking tasks including but not limited to dusting furniture; sweeping, vacuuming, and washing floors; kitchen care, including dishes, appliances, and counters; bathroom care; changing bed linens; washing windows; removing trash; and laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and putting clothes away.
• Personal hygiene assistance including but not limited to bed bath, shower, or partial bath; shampoo in sink, tub, or bed; oral hygiene; toileting and elimination; transfer and ambulation; range of motion and positioning; and adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
• Meal preparation, grocery purchase, and errands for the purpose of picking up prescriptions.
• Complete, neatly, accurately, and timely, all required paperwork and documentation for each client.
• Apply principles of health and safety in relation to self and client.
• Observe changes in client status and report to supervisor.
• Other job-related duties as required.
