About The Position
Alternate Solutions Home Health Columbus is hiring a Home Health Aide to provide compassionate, in-home support to patients under a nurse’s supervision. The role involves helping patients feel safe, comfortable, and supported while following each patient’s plan of care and working within the aide’s scope of practice. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with travel to scheduled patient visits. The job description notes that it may not include every activity, duty, or responsibility. Duties and responsibilities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) credential or completion of a 75-hour nurse aide training program (CNA).
- One year of verifiable nurse aide experience under an RN’s direct supervision.
- Score of 80% or higher on the skills competency test.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance listing the applicant as a driver.
- Ability to safely perform hands-on care, including lifting, transferring, and bathing.
- Caring attitude, strong communication skills, and dependable attendance.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with bathing, grooming, toileting, and other personal care needs.
- Help with meals, laundry, and light housekeeping as needed.
- Support safe transfers, walking, and prescribed exercises.
- Observe and report changes in patients’ conditions.
- Complete visit documentation within 24 hours.
- Travel to scheduled patient visits and follow each patient’s plan of care within the aide’s scope of practice.
- Complete required training, including 12 hours of annual in-services.
