About The Position

HUTCO, INC. is currently seeking Welders to work in Houston, Texas. To be considered for this Welder opportunity, you must have at least 2 years of experience in stick welding. The role requires knowledge of equipment, work processes, and techniques used for this role, including the ability to perform all functions of the position in conformity with applicable regulations and generally observed safety practices. Essential job functions include entering and moving through manholes to reach and work in internally confined spaces, manipulating and transporting loads up to 50 pounds over distances of up to 200 feet approximately 1 to 6 times during each 8-hour shift (occasionally 75 pounds), manipulating and operating all machines and tools essential to the performance of the position, traversing gangways and scaffolding at varying heights, traversing and negotiating uneven surfaces and uneven heights between dock and vessel, and performing actions such as stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, lifting, and reaching.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in stick welding.
Must be able to pass hands-on certification tests.
Welding Hood (connects to Hard hat)
Welding Gloves
Chipping Hammer
Steel Toe Boots
Long – Sleeve Shirt
Long Pants
Stinger/ Electrode Holder with Male Connector (SMAW)
Pliers / Cutters (FCAW)
Safety Glasses
Wire Brush

Responsibilities

Pass hands-on certification tests.
Enter and move through manholes to reach and work in internally confined spaces.
