About The Position

Penn State is currently seeking a Stewardship Coordinator to support The Nittany Lion Club. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, you can play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country. Reporting to the Director of Stewardship and Events, the Stewardship Coordinator works closely with campus colleagues and leadership, as well as other partners, to support comprehensive stewardship efforts.

Requirements

  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues
  • Working knowledge of Penn State Development software systems such as: eSteward, AWA/Ellucian Advance (or similar)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be willing and able to periodically work evenings or weekends
  • A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education
  • Required Certifications: None
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in developing, implementing and coordinating new stewardship initiatives of the Nittany Lion Club to create meaningful donor experiences
  • Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications
  • Coordinate endowment management efforts, manage stewardship contacts and track activity in eSteward, the University’s stewardship system
  • Serve as a stewardship liaison to internal and external constituents
  • Manage the gift acknowledgement process which includes composing the letters
  • Maintain and report program fund balances and the collect necessary spending plans
  • Assist with the scholarship awarding process including the coordination of student thank you letters and donor related mailings
  • Assist with facility donor stewardship and recognition
  • Provide staffing assistance at events
  • Provide support to the Stewardship and Events team
