About The Position

The National is hiring for a Stewarding Supervisor. This role is essential to successful Culinary and Food & Beverage operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and organization. The ideal candidate understands that a strong Stewarding team keeps Culinary operations running smoothly behind the scenes, and that properly maintained equipment, organized workspaces, and clean kitchens create the foundation for great service. Great supervisors lead by example, support their teams, and take pride in the work. Teamwork and communication between Stewarding, Culinary, Banquets, and other departments are essential to a successful operation. The details guests may never see are often what make an exceptional experience possible.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to listen to, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all departments.
  • Consistent work history in a banquet or kitchen environment preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, supporting, and working alongside Stewarding Curators throughout the day.
  • Keeping kitchens, storage areas, hallways, and workspaces clean, organized, and ready for service.
  • Ensuring dishes, smallwares, equipment, silverware, plates, and glassware are properly washed, sanitized, organized, and delivered where needed.
  • Helping organize and stage Culinary spaces for daily operations and events.
  • Attending BEO meetings and planning Stewarding needs around upcoming events.
  • Supporting the team with trash removal, cardboard breakdown, floor cleaning, and other cleaning projects.
  • Properly transporting, storing, and caring for kitchen equipment and operating supplies.
  • Jumping in to support other back-of-house areas when needed, including buffet, EDR, or outlet stewarding.
  • Supporting Culinary teams with food production, product rotation, and organized storage when needed.
  • Maintaining professional customer service standards when working in public areas.
  • Creating a positive team environment where Curators feel supported, respected, and set up for success.
  • Taking pride in the behind-the-scenes work that keeps The National running smoothly.
