About The Position

The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of all kitchens, dishwashing, and back-of-house areas at our off-site restaurant. This role is critical in supporting culinary and service operations by ensuring all equipment, utensils, and workspaces meet established health, safety, and operational standards. The Steward plays a key role in maintaining efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Requirements

Previous steward, dishwashing, or kitchen experience preferred but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Responsibilities

Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans in accordance with health and safety standards
Ensure proper handling, storage, and organization of all cleaned items
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen floors, walls, drains, trash areas, and workspaces
Remove trash and recycling from kitchen and service areas in a timely and sanitary manner
Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries, including rotating stock and maintaining organization
Support culinary team with basic prep tasks as assigned (e.g., washing produce, stocking stations)
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, chemicals, and dishwashing materials
Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and operating equipment
Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
Assist with opening and closing duties, including deep cleaning tasks
Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and team members
Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall kitchen and restaurant operations
