The Steward is responsible for cleaning, transporting, and storing all china, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and equipment used in the food and beverage operations. This role ensures that the restaurant and banquet kitchens are consistently stocked with the proper amounts of all equipment and maintains the cleanliness of kitchen floors, recycling bins, oil bins, and the recycle/trash room. The Steward also assists with restocking kitchen towels and transporting food for event functions. A key part of this role involves operating commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment, ensuring all items are properly sanitized and stored according to established procedures and health code regulations. Monitoring water temperature, detergent levels, and equipment functionality is crucial for effective dishwashing. The Steward will also be responsible for emptying trash bins, disposing of food waste, and maintaining overall cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas, while strictly adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
