The Steward is responsible for cleaning all dishes, pots, pans, utensils, speed racks, and other items to facilitate the food service operation. This role also involves maintaining the kitchen floor, walls, and surfaces through regular sweeping, mopping, and cleaning. The Steward must comply with all health, safety, and sanitation standards, understand and practice the proper use of chemicals, and maintain knowledge of sanitation, dishwashing, maintenance, and safety standards. Additionally, the Steward will separate and remove trash and garbage, place it in designated containers, steam-clean or hose out garbage cans, and operate the cardboard recycle compactor. All other duties as assigned will also be part of this role.
