About The Position

This role oversees all waste disposals, trains staff on proper recycling procedures to maximize recycling and minimize trash disposal costs, and ensures the proper use and maintenance of recycling bins and waste receptacles. The position also involves maintaining logs, reporting compliance issues, ensuring cleanliness of recycling areas, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Must possess high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Must be able to report to work on time as scheduled.
• Must possess proficient communication skills.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
• Must present an overall professional appearance and report to work in appropriate attire.
• Must be detail-oriented and organized.

Nice To Haves

• Previous kitchen worker experience preferred.
• Knowledge of various cleaning equipment used in the cleaning industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all waste disposals.
• Trains staff in the proper procedures to maximize recycling and minimize trash disposal costs.
• Ensures recycling bins are available and used in all predetermined areas.
• Ensures all waste is dumped at pre-designated times into proper receptacles.
• Maintains a log of what and how much is recycled, and reviews weekly with Chief Steward.
• Reports recycling compliance issues to the Chief Steward.
• Ensures that trash cans are cleaned on a daily basis.
• Reports any recycle bins that need to be replaced.
• Ensures that food waste is put through the pulper properly.
• Oversees pulper use and reports any necessary issues to maintenance.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of recycling areas.
• Provides exceptional customer service.
• Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations.
• Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests.
• Follows all relevant policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
