About The Position

At Mission Point Resort, cleanliness, sustainability, and guest experience go hand in hand. As Mackinac Island’s only full-service, casually elegant resort, we are seeking a hardworking and reliable Recycling Attendant to support daily waste management operations and uphold our commitment to environmental stewardship. The Recycling Attendant plays a vital part in resort operations by ensuring all waste, recycling, and compost materials are collected, sorted, and disposed of safely and efficiently. This role is highly physical and requires consistent attention to detail, strong time management, and a proactive approach to keeping resort grounds and facilities clean and guest-ready. You’ll work in a diverse, multicultural environment where dependability, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential. Success in this role comes from taking pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible resort.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Capable of working outdoors in varying weather
• Capable of performing repetitive physical tasks
• Understanding of safe equipment use and proper handling of waste and recycling materials
• Strong attention to detail, dependability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly
• Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island during the season

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in custodial, groundskeeping, facilities, or waste management is helpful but not required
