About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing the inventory and distribution of equipment and supplies, ensuring the cleanliness of the department and all processing equipment, and maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency. The Sterilization Tech will inspect, disassemble, sort, clean, and process reusable instrumentation and equipment, diagnose and repair equipment issues, and maintain up-to-date training on all applicable standard operating procedures. The position also involves supporting the implementation of new technology, managing inventory, reordering supplies, and checking expiration dates. Additionally, the role requires the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, a strong understanding of relevant regulations, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of OSHA and state regulations
  • Knowledge of the English language – composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Skilled in the use of standard office equipment including telephones, calculators, copiers, fax, computers, and computer software (MS Excel, Word, Practice Management software)
  • Ability to instill trust from the doctors, co-workers, and patients

Responsibilities

  • Oversee inventory and distribution of equipment and supplies.
  • Control inventory, reorder supplies, and check expiration dates.
  • Inspect, disassemble, sort, clean, and process reusable instrumentation and equipment.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and make process adjustments.
  • Maintain current training status on all applicable standard operating procedures.
  • Create processes and tools for mobile use of GIS for data collection and consumption.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the department and all processing equipment.
  • Unload supplies, ensuring items are not compromised and stored in correct locations.
  • Support implementation of new technology for process execution and/or analysis.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism when exposed to stressful situations.
  • Work cooperatively with management, staff, and patients.
  • Prioritize, organize, and complete tasks in a timely and independent manner.
  • Understand and follow written and verbal instructions and accept constructive criticism.
  • Collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Communicate and express thoughts and ideas competently.
  • Quickly grasp relevant concepts regarding duties and responsibilities.
