About The Position
Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join the Sterile Processing Department at its Downtown Jacksonville campus. This full-time night-shift position supports surgical services by ensuring instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and available for patient care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- 1–2 years of instrument experience.
- 1–2 years of surgical instrumentation experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Inspect, assemble, and wrap instrument trays and linen for sterilization.
- Select appropriate supplies and sterilization methods.
- Operate sterilization equipment while following established protocols.
- Demonstrate knowledge of sterilization principles and best practices.
- Prioritize workload while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
