About The Position

The Central Processing Technician decontaminates, cleans, packages and sterilizes all instruments/equipment and other supplies used in the hospital. He/she also maintains appropriate documentation. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
1 year of relevant work experience
Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
Certified Sterile Processing Technician - The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc

Nice To Haves

Prior Sterile Processing experience
Currently enrolled in, or have completed, a Sterile Processing program that includes clinical rotations/clinical experience.
Prior hands-on experience in instrument processing, decontamination, and sterilization is preferred.

Responsibilities

Decontaminates and cleans instruments for the operating room.
Assembles instrument sets to be used in procedures.
Sterilization of instruments.
Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety and follows infection control standards.
Maintains appropriate documentation.
