About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week night shift assignment in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with established infection control and safety standards.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a nationally accredited Central Service Technician exam with current certification OR Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility.
• Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards, infection prevention, and instrument handling.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with steam sterilization, STERIS, and STERRAD equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays.
• Follow proper aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines.
• Operate decontamination and sterilization equipment, including steam sterilizers, STERIS systems, and STERRAD units.
• Assemble both simple and complex instrument trays accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure instruments meet sterility and functionality standards.
• Monitor, document, and maintain sterilization records in compliance with facility protocols.
• Respond promptly to urgent and emergent instrument needs from the Operating Room and other clinical departments.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
