About The Position
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for an exciting job in Syracuse, NY.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a nationally accredited Central Service Technician exam and current certification as a Central Service Technician OR Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility
- Ability to pass pre-employment health clearance
- Strong knowledge of sterilization processes and infection control standards
- Experience handling surgical instrumentation and complex surgical trays
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong prioritization skills in a fast-paced surgical environment
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, disinfection, and cleaning of surgical instruments and trays
- Inspect, assemble, and package both simple and complex instrument sets with precision
- Operate sterilization equipment including steam sterilizers, Steris systems, and Sterrad systems
- Monitor, document, and verify sterilization cycles and decontamination processes
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and functionality of surgical sets
- Maintain compliance with aseptic technique and infection prevention standards
- Respond promptly to urgent and emergent instrument requests from clinical staff
- Rotate holidays and weekends based on departmental needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and departmental records
- Support Operating Room and clinical teams with instrument readiness and efficient turnaround
