About The Position

Step into a vital support role as a Central Sterile Processing Technician, where your attention to detail and commitment to safety help keep patients and clinical teams safe every day. In this fast-paced environment, you’ll be responsible for cleaning and decontaminating medical equipment and instruments, preparing sterile trays, operating sterilization equipment, and ensuring all items are ready for use. You’ll help maintain clean and organized department spaces, assist with deliveries, answer phones, and support the team by participating in training and in-service programs. Requirements

  • Six years of sterile processing experience is required.
  • Certification in Central Sterile Processing required.
  • Certification as Instrument Specialist (CIS) required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Course completion from an accredited Central Service Technician training program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cleaning and decontaminating medical equipment and instrumentation
  • Preparing sterile procedure trays and equipment
  • Operating steam, low temperature sterilizers, and any other type of sterilization equipment used within CSP
  • Maintaining sterile / clean storage/ and all other department areas
  • Answering phone and service door
  • Delivering requested items
  • Completing all required documentation on activities
  • Maintaining the standards of the organizations mission, goals, and safety behaviors
  • Assisting in other areas as requested
  • Participate in the training and in- service programs for staff, and students
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability at all times for quality performance
  • Represent the CSP department in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Assume leadership responsibilities as needed, such as attending departmental meeting, leading department projects, and leading the departmental work flows as needed in absence of leadership presence
