About The Position
The Sterile Processing Technician III prepares, sterilizes, installs, or cleans laboratory or healthcare equipment and may perform routine laboratory tasks and operate or inspect equipment. The technician serves as the first point of escalation for staff when a supervisor is not immediately available. This role also contributes to training and mentoring new and existing employees, prioritizing assignments, and adjusting workflows to ensure the most pressing needs are met within deadlines. The position is full-time at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The schedule is an evening shift from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with a $2.00-per-hour evening shift differential subject to company policy or union contract. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible individuals who qualify.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience working in sterile processing.
- Sterile Processing Technician certification (CBSPD or CRCST).
Responsibilities
- Prepare, sterilize, install, or clean laboratory or healthcare equipment.
- Perform routine laboratory tasks and operate or inspect equipment as needed.
- Act as the first point of escalation for staff members when a supervisor is not immediately available.
- Train and mentor new and existing employees.
- Assist in prioritizing assignments and adjusting workflows to ensure pressing needs are met within deadlines.
