Sterile Processing Technician I

About The Position
Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores, and distributes equipment, supplies, and instruments used in patient care. The role requires completion of coursework toward certification within two years of hire; completed certification is not required. The technician must earn 12 continuing education credits annually focused on technical information and advancement related to the Central Service (CS) field and successfully complete orientation specific to Sterile Processing Department (SPD).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Complete coursework toward certification within two years of hire; completed certification is not required.
- Earn 12 continuing education credits annually focused on technical information and advancement related to the Central Service (CS) field.
- Successfully complete orientation specific to the Sterile Processing Department (SPD).
- Basic computer skills.
