Sterile Processing Technician I
About The Position
STERIS is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician to work behind the scenes in healthcare facilities, supporting patient safety in a fast-paced environment. The role involves reprocessing surgical trays so they are clean, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled, and ready for the next case. Technicians operate sterile processing equipment and participate in regular on-site training. The position is full-time and eligible for bonus participation. The stated pay range is $20.33–$26.31; minimum pay rates will comply with higher applicable county or city minimums. Pay is based on factors including local labor market costs, relevant experience, education, certifications, and language fluency. The position is open until filled.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of sterile processing experience with CRCST or CBSPD certification, or two years of experience.
- CRCST or CBSPD certification, or willingness to complete certification within 12 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Reprocess surgical trays after surgery, ensuring they are decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled, and ready for the next case in a timely manner.
- Operate sterile processing washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic equipment, and drying cabinets.
- Participate in regular on-site training.
