Sterile Processing Tech II - Evening Shift
About The Position
Salem Health is hiring a full-time Sterile Processing Tech II at Salem Hospital in Salem, Oregon. The role supports surgical teams and patient safety by ensuring instruments and other items are properly decontaminated, prepared, sterilized, and available for care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., for 40 hours per week. The technician follows departmental standards and equipment guidelines, prepares items for sterilization using the correct procedures, indicators, and labels, operates and maintains sterilizers, assembles case carts, and organizes surgical trays, instruments, and drills. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment and identifying and addressing safety hazards.
Requirements
- Hold a current Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification or a current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate and prepare items according to departmental standards and equipment guidelines.
- Prepare items for sterilization using correct procedures, indicators, and labels.
- Operate and maintain sterilizers, ensuring proper function and reporting maintenance issues.
- Assemble and prepare case carts efficiently and independently.
- Handle and organize surgical trays, instruments, and drills for proper assembly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, identifying and addressing safety hazards.
