About The Position

The Certified Sterile Processing Tech role promotes improved quality and patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department.

Requirements

  • Computer skills required
  • CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire or transfer
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. required

Responsibilities

  • Promote improved quality and improved patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department.
  • Perform routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies.
  • Responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization equipment.
  • Maintain records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Maintains Certification, and monitors, instructs and mentors non-certified.
  • Facilitate awareness and understanding around what is at stake with patients in the OR.
  • Facilitate the department's preparation of staff to pass survey/regulatory assessments.
