About The Position

The Certified Sterile Processing Tech role promotes improved quality and patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department. This involves performing routine tasks related to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies. The tech is responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization equipment, maintaining records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards, and maintaining certification. The role also includes monitoring, instructing, and mentoring non-certified staff, facilitating awareness and understanding around what is at stake with patients in the OR, and facilitating the department's preparation of staff to pass survey/regulatory assessments.

Requirements

  • Computer skills required
  • CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire or transfer
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. required

Responsibilities
