About The Position

The Clinical Program Administrator provides operational leadership and coordination for the University of Utah STEMI Program. This role is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing performance of the STEMI program across the full continuum of care, with a strong focus on clinical pathway alignment, quality outcomes, and multidisciplinary collaboration. This position reports to the Senior Nursing Director Procedural and works in close partnership with the Cardiac Catheterization Lab Medical Director. The Clinical Program Administrator serves as a central liaison among Emergency Departments, AirMed, EMS agencies, Cardiac Catheterization Labs, inpatient units, quality, registry teams, ambulatory care teams and referring STEMI hospitals to ensure consistent, timely, and evidence-based care for STEMI patients. This role supports coordination of all STEMI patient care pathways, from first medical contact through reperfusion, inpatient care, and transition to ambulatory care, by aligning workflows, communication processes, and performance expectations across multiple clinical and operational partners. The Clinical Program Administrator facilitates multidisciplinary collaboration among physicians, nursing, EMS, AirMed, quality, and administrative teams to support seamless transitions of care and standardized STEMI processes. The Clinical Program Administrator also serves as a key liaison for STEMI outreach and referral partners. This includes coordinating outreach STEMI referral data, identifying and addressing data gaps, and organizing quarterly data reviews with each outreach hospital to review case performance, quality metrics, and opportunities for improvement. The position provides direct support for STEMI quality initiatives, cardiac registry participation, data collection, and performance reporting. The Clinical Program Administrator partners closely with clinical leaders, quality teams, and external partners to support accreditation, regulatory compliance, and the long-term sustainability of the STEMI program. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health care field, or equivalency.
  • Two years of clinical or related hospital experience.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
  • Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current program regulations.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement ideals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Current detailed knowledge of program regulations, and basic knowledge of State, DNV, and JCAHO regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in the program field.
  • Current Utah license to practice as an RN.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the management of all components of the program ensuring integration of outpatient, inpatient, and ancillary services.
  • Ensures compliance with and maintenance of certification and accreditation related to the program.
  • Coordinates program quality meetings, inspections, and other subcommittees related to the program's quality management plan, as needed.
  • Completes all RFI submissions from contracted insurance companies.
  • Collaborates with the department chairs/division chiefs on outreach development/fundraising activities.
  • Oversees third party contract direct agreements with the program.
  • Coordinates and develops the improvement of the program database.
  • Assists the program leadership in tracking and trending quality indicators by writing and executing validation plans and SOP/CPGs, deviation management, root cause analysis, carrying out CA/PA and other quality assurance duties as dictated by management.
  • Maintains document control for all program policies; SOPs, CPGs, treatment protocols, consent forms, department-specific training checklists, and education documents.
  • Maintains content updates to program Pulse website, program public website, and related public sites annually.
  • Oversees the data entry and reporting to accrediting and governing bodies.
  • May perform the duties of a BMT Coordinator, as applicable to the needs of the department.
  • May perform patient scans, as applicable to the needs of the department.
