About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors is hiring a STEM Tutor to provide personalized academic support to students in Naples, Florida. The company provides private in-home and online tutoring for students from kindergarten through grade 12, covering a range of subjects and curricula. This role focuses particularly on AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and other STEM subjects, including advanced high school science and mathematics. Tutoring is primarily in person or in students’ homes; online tutoring may also be available depending on student needs and assignments. The tutor tailors instruction to each student, supports understanding of course material, and communicates progress to parents or guardians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Meet at least one of the following: hold a valid Florida State teaching certificate or equivalent; be a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate; have two or more years of experience as a private or charter school classroom teacher; have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited U.S. university or college; or be a master’s or PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. university or college.
• Strong subject knowledge, particularly in AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and other STEM subjects, including advanced high school science and mathematics.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, or providing academic support at the high school level, especially in AP courses or other advanced STEM subjects.
• Ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and help students develop a deeper understanding of material.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and committed to student success.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, dependable, and committed to providing outstanding service to students and families.
• Ability to adapt instruction to a range of learning styles and individual student needs.
• Available to provide in-person or in-home tutoring to students in Naples, Florida.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AP curricula and exam preparation is a strong asset.

Responsibilities
