About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors is a private in-home tutoring company that delivers flexible and personalized tutoring programs to students from age four to twenty, specializing in all subject areas. We hire only the best - certified teachers, or those in the process of completing their degree in Education and pay much higher wages than the industry average. This role provides academic support to high school students in Mathematics, with a primary focus on advanced high school Math and AP-level coursework. The tutor will provide supplemental assignments and learning activities to help students strengthen their mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence with complex concepts. This includes remedial and enrichment support for students preparing for high school Math courses, AP Calculus (AB and/or BC), and other advanced academic programs. Additionally, the role involves providing AP Biology and AP Chemistry tutoring and academic support, helping students develop strong conceptual understanding, analytical skills, and exam preparation strategies. The tutor will also help students prepare for tests, quizzes, AP examinations, and other assessments through personalized instruction, practice, and targeted feedback. Communication with parents or guardians to discuss student progress, academic goals, and areas for continued development is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• Energetic and enthusiastic teachers with experience teaching or tutoring high school students.
• Strong knowledge of high school Mathematics, with demonstrated expertise in advanced Math and AP Calculus.
• Strong understanding of AP-level coursework, examination expectations, problem-solving strategies, and academic preparation.
• Committed to providing excellent customer service and a positive learning experience for students and families.
• Enjoy working with students and families and have a genuine interest in supporting students' academic growth and success.
• Great communication skills, with the ability to explain challenging mathematical and scientific concepts clearly and adapt instruction to individual student needs.
• Hold a registration in good standing with the Georgia Department of Education.
• Qualified to teach in the United States.
• A current teacher candidate; pursuing a bachelor of education.
• Experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited United States or Canadian University or College.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching or tutoring AP Biology and/or AP Chemistry is highly valued.
• Experience working with advanced, honors, AP, or college-preparatory students is considered an asset.
• Experience teaching or tutoring high school Mathematics, AP Calculus, AP Biology, and/or AP Chemistry is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to high school students in Mathematics, with a primary focus on advanced high school Math and AP-level coursework.
• Provide supplemental assignments and learning activities to help students strengthen their mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence with complex concepts.
• Provide remedial and enrichment support for students preparing for high school Math courses, AP Calculus, and other advanced academic programs.
• Support students with AP Calculus, including topics appropriate to AP Calculus AB and/or BC, as well as preparation for AP exams.
• Provide AP Biology and AP Chemistry tutoring and academic support as an additional subject area, helping students develop strong conceptual understanding, analytical skills, and exam preparation strategies.
• Help students prepare for tests, quizzes, AP examinations, and other assessments through personalized instruction, practice, and targeted feedback.
• Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress, academic goals, and areas for continued development.
