About The Position

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a qualified and experienced Elementary STEM teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at Kipps Elementary School. This position is responsible for supporting the implementation of STEM initiatives and Elementary Computer Science Standards, under the direction of the Director of Elementary Education and the Supervisor of Instructional Technology. The role also involves collaborating with teachers to promote interdisciplinary STEM and Computer Science activities within the core curriculum.

Requirements

Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an elementary education endorsement.
Evidence of at least three (3) years of exemplary classroom teaching experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience with Google platforms.
A proven track record in the use of a rich array of instructional methods.
Proven ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively.
Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
Evidence of productive experience with problem-based learning.
Evidence of planning, organization, and time management skills that will bring structure and accountability to the position.
Proven ability to apply science and/or math content knowledge, formative assessment, and technology integration at a high level.
Deep understanding of student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated instruction.
Proven ability to coach and collaborate with teachers regarding student learning.
Desire to continue learning “what works” in classroom instruction.
Knowledge of elementary SOLs and how to integrate STEM into existing curriculum.
Knowledge of Virginia computer science standards.
A commitment to community partnerships and community involvement.
Ability to understand engineering design model.
Experience in utilizing low-cost or open educational resources in designing STEM activities.

Nice To Haves

Master’s in mathematics and/or science and/or STEM or related field.
National Board Certification, Curriculum and Instruction.
Experience in delivering professional development to teachers.
Google certification.
