About The Position
Match Charter Public School is seeking a full-time Visual Arts Teacher to build and teach Visual Arts classes across multiple elementary grades at their Hyde Park campus. The role involves refining curriculum, upholding high academic and behavioral expectations, participating in professional development, assisting with school programming, and contributing positively to the school community.
Requirements
- At least 1-3 years prior experience as an Performing Arts teacher
- Hold a valid and appropriate license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or meet licensure requirements within a year of date of hire
- Demonstrate skill in designing and delivering lessons
- Demonstrate skill in building effective relationships with students and colleagues
- Hold a deep belief that all students can and will succeed
- Possess a desire to continually improve their practice as an educator by taking and implementing feedback
Responsibilities
- Refine curriculum and teach elementary school Visual Arts classes
- Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there
- Participate actively in Match’s coaching and professional development programming
- Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time
- Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community
