About The Position

Branford Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School STEM Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This itinerant position will serve Mary T. Murphy and Mary R. Tisko schools. The teacher will report to the Director of Elementary Education and Building Principals. The role involves delivering high-quality science instruction aligned with district curriculum and Next Generation Science Standards, planning and implementing engaging lessons, developing curriculum and assessments, managing the classroom effectively, assessing student learning, and collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality secondary science instruction aligned to district curriculum, course expectations, and the Next Generation Science Standards.
  • Plan and implement engaging lessons that promote inquiry, scientific reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Develop and refine curriculum, units, lessons, assessments, and instructional materials aligned to course goals and standards.
  • Use effective classroom management, instructional routines, and assessment practices to support an inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student learning, analyze results, and adjust instruction to meet diverse student needs.
  • Collaborate and communicate professionally with colleagues, administrators, families, and other stakeholders to support student learning.
