About The Position

The STEM Program Coordinator (PC) is responsible for planning, facilitating, and administering Girls Inc. Whole-Girl programs that focus on STEM exposure and career exploration. This role helps create a pipeline of confident girls with skills to pursue post-secondary plans, increasing the percentage of girls graduating in STEM fields, and ultimately contributing to their financial independence. The coordinator also supports internship placements and incorporates social-emotional learning, growth mindset, resiliency, confidence-building, wellness, leadership development, and media literacy into programs. This role fosters partnerships to enhance experiential learning, delivering programs to approximately 4,500 girls annually across three tiers of engagement: 380 girls in Tier I (intensive STEM exposure), 1,300 girls in Tier II (engaged participants), and 2,800 girls in Tier III (outreach). This role is full-time, Monday to Friday, and typically operates between 8 am and 6 pm, with occasional Saturdays and evenings during the school year and summer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM education or bachelor’s degree in any field with STEM education experience
  • Experience facilitating STEM programs for youth, with an ability to engage students in hands-on problem-solving activities
  • Strong emotional intelligence with a passion for working with diverse groups
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with program participants, parents/guardians, and professionals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant technology tools (Google Docs, data entry software, CANVA, Adobe, etc.)
  • Possess reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver’s license, and a clear driving record
  • Ability to drive a company van safely and responsibly

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and lead agency-approved STEM programs for 3rd-12th grade girls
  • Design lessons to introduce participants to various STEM topics
  • Ensure participation in STEM competitions, career panels, and college tours
  • Utilize the Girls Inc. Makerspace and STEM lab for program activities
  • Maintain relationships with corporate partners to enhance STEM exposure
  • Plan and lead community and family engagement events
  • Plan and execute STEM events, socials, and field trips focused on career exploration and post-secondary education
  • Participate in programming collaborative efforts, ensuring STEM participants receive workforce and college exposure
  • Meet with parents to explain program goals, discuss progress, and encourage family involvement
  • Collaborate with school staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure smooth program delivery
  • Represent Girls Inc. at events, leading presentations, and special projects as needed
  • Collect, track, and submit all required documentation and reports related to program activities and participants
  • Monitor and assess program outcomes through evaluations, surveys, and pre/post-tests
  • Ensure all girls are entered into agency-approved data system
  • Complete and submit paperwork related to program evaluations, participant data, and grant compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant information, and outcomes
  • Track participant involvement in STEM fields, including student worker placements and mentorships
  • Supervise and support volunteers and student workers involved in program delivery
  • Provide feedback and recognition to encourage ongoing volunteer and intern involvement
  • Regularly assess personal performance and set professional development goals
  • Attend staff meetings, town halls, and principal meetings; collaborate with staff to meet goals and expand program reach
  • Participate in all required reporting and deadlines at the organizational level, including but not limited to those related to expense management, mileage, and grant requirements
  • Participate in fundraising and volunteer engagement events as needed
