About The Position

WIL is seeking a STEM Outreach Program Manager to lead K-12 STEM outreach programs that build student interest in science and engineering careers, including defense-related fields. This is a contingent proposal opportunity in WIL's expert collaborator network, not a funded vacancy. WIL is preparing a competitive grant application; no award has been made, and there is no guaranteed work or funding. If an award proceeds and the staffing model calls for it, WIL may offer a project-based contract or consulting engagement. WIL will ask before naming the candidate or including their resume in any proposal. The role is described as a remote US project-based contract collaboration.

Requirements

  • Experience leading K-12 STEM outreach or education programs.
  • Partnerships with school districts or education organizations.
  • Teacher professional development or curriculum experience.
  • Program management and evaluation experience.
  • Comfortable as a project-based contract collaborator.

Nice To Haves

  • Defense or national-laboratory STEM program experience.
  • Engineering or science background.
  • Experience serving military-connected students.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of K-12 STEM outreach programs, such as camps, competitions, and classroom programs.
  • Partner with schools, districts, universities, and research labs.
  • Plan teacher professional development and curriculum support.
  • Recruit students from underserved and military-connected communities.
  • Track participation and learning outcomes.
  • Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to WIL proposals when authorized to be named.
